Free software for creating/editing art.

Post by Illvminati » Tue Apr 25, 2017 1:23 pm

If you don't have Photoshop, there are free alternatives that I have listed below in no particular order.
You will have an easier time if you own a graphic tablet (plugs in to your PC), as opposed to drawing with your mouse.

Alpaca
http://firealpaca.com/en
(recommended by Luna)
"Fire Alpaca is good for art too, it's pretty easy to get used to" - Luna.

Pixlr
https://pixlr.com/editor/
Online (no need to download) and very similar to Photoshop, but with fewer functions. Fast & convenient.

Krita
https://krita.org/en/
Krita, a popular choice for artists.

Gimp
https://www.gimp.org/
A very respected free opensource software. I don't like it, but many do.

MediBang Paint
https://medibangpaint.com/en/
(recommended by Luna)
"MediBang Paint is also a nice program and it's available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices". - Luna.

You're welcome, I'll let you know if I think of anymore. I've tried my fair share of art programs, haha.

SketchBook Express is good too, it works really well with the graphic tablet ^^
Can be known as Dragonwolf.

An app I would like to suggest is ibisPaintx. It's free and really good for drawing and editing photos (if you like to edit them "artistically"), and there is a full version of it called ibisPaint (which costs money).
